- turning a fault into a feature!
I loved this job, the client turned a trip hazard into a beautiful feature.
The client runs his business from his home in West End, with staff turning up each morning he was worried about his team tripping/slipping on a concrete slope on entry to the office. Rather than the traditional “Hazard Mitigation” of high-viz paint or cordoning off the area, I was engaged to fabricate and fit a bespoke planter box to overcome the issue and add value.
- maintaining your biggest asset
The lovely Sean engaged us to fabricate and fit a gate and repair the front external stairs (as well as a few other odd jobs around the house). The existing car entry required a large gate being made due to a double garage entry.
The external stairs required a lot of work and were in bad shape - hardwood tread replacement, welding repairs to the existing stringers, colour match, and paint.
With a double car entry, the double gate was constructed and welded on site. Timber screwed to steel, colour matched, and painted.
- dogs of Handy's!
Charlie's little patch of grass wasn't getting enough regular sun to grow properly, so it was replaced with synthetic K9 Tuff Turf, a product specifically designed with pups with in mind.
The turf has antibacterial properties to reduce odour and can be hosed clean.
Charlie loves his soft, fresh yard and Charlie's Mums don't need to worry about the mowing!
- more stairs!
A client booked us to repair and paint the front stairs of her sister's house as a birthday surprise.
A weekend away was organised for the birthday girl and we quickly got to work!
Much of the bannister was replaced, several treads replaced and reinforced, paint matched and the entire stairs repainted.
When she returned, an already excellent weekend got even better with this wonderful surprise waiting to greet her.
- build it and they will come: custom build services
The client requested a custom-built four and half-meter workstation for his team. Luckily he has a very talented Architect on his team who drew up the desk and sent through the plans via SketchUp for me to build.
The RHS steel was cut, welded, and painted off-site. The desk was then constructed on-site with a beautiful slab of laminated ply from DMK Forest Products.
The table was completed by the addition of a cable basket underneath to contain all those wayward cables.
- a regular client with a long to-do list
The Holland Park homeowners have busy lives and a beautiful house, but little time (or desire) for DIY home maintenance.
With a long list of jobs, I was booked for a regular, recurring appointment with this client.
Jobs completed so far include replacing outdoor tiling, repairing the entrance gate, creating a small retaining wall, building a possum box, and giving the dogs a belly rub (ongoing).
